Expat Long Hole Driller - South Africa

Redpath's work at Mogalakwena commenced with portal construction within the existing open pit and includes developing a 3,000m long, 6m x 5.5m exploration decline, along with site facilities and electrical infrastructure. The decline development required precise blasting and ground support and included the development of diamond drill cuddies. A partnership between Redpath and Redpath Mining South Africa provides contract services for the Mogalakwena project

The Role involves:

• Working a 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off roster.
• FIFO from any major city in Australia or New Zealand.
• Perform accurate drilling by working with engineering to ensure holes are drilled correctly.
• Ensure safe, effective, and productive operation of the production drill.
• Training and mentoring of national drill operators.
• Ensuring machinery used are cleaned and presented for service regularly

We are looking for:

• Minimum 2 years underground longhole drilling experience.
• Experience with Sandvik DL422i production drill for downhole drilling.
• Ability to train and guide nationals in best drilling practices.
• Some experience with Sandvik cable bolter rigs will be considered highly advantageous.
• A positive work ethic and attitude in keeping with Redpath's motto, Consider it done— safely.
